The Wanstead Society has donated over £1,100 to the Wanstead Playground Association since it was formed 2 years ago. Our Chairman, Scott Wilding, is a trustee of the Charity and has worked with the Committee to ensure this great appeal has as much funding as possible.
The fund raising activities have been so successful that work is due to start in the next few months. It’s a great achievement for the whole community and one that will see our children use a vital community asset. Overall over £100,000 has been raised for this small corner of Wanstead and 90% of that was from volunteers and donations. It’s a real testament to what can happen when the community pulls together.
