Wanstead Festival 2010

The Wanstead Festival was another resounding success for the Wanstead Society, with over 27 new members signed up on the day!

The Festival, which was held on the 19th September, coincided with the first day of the Wanstead Art Trail, which ran until the 25th, and saw a variety of local artists display their work in local shops.

The Society has always had a presence at the Festival, which is funded by Redbridge Council’s Area 1 Committee, and this year we had two stalls which gave us a better opportunity to promote our work and the benefit of the society.

We very much hope the day will continue to be supported by the Council in these hard economic times, as it gives the community a fantastic chance to get together and discuss local issues, watch free bands and catch up with friends they haven’t seen for a while.
The Festival provides benefits which can’t be quantified in financial terms and gives all community groups, not just the Wanstead Society, a showcase for what they offer the community as well as promoting a village spirit particular to Wanstead.
