Tidy up Tarzy Wood Event

One SaTarzyturday in March the Epping Forest rangers, local volunteers and the Wanstead Society took part in the “tidy up Tarzy” event.

Tarzy Wood – which is the woodland sitting just behind the War Memorial – is owned by Epping Forest. Sadly, litter and invasive species of plant have taken over much of the woodland. Our job was to cut this back, remove bags of litter and allow light into the forest floor to promote growth of natural plant life.

To celebrate this piece of forgotten woodland, on Saturday 16th July the Epping Forest Rangers will hold a fun day in the forest from 10am with bouncy castles, stalls and woodland activities or kids. Its a great event and we hope that some of you will want to come along and enjoy the space in July.
