The Wanstead Society receives award nomination

The Wanstead Society has been nominated for the “Green Redbridge” award by the Council. This is in recognition of all the hard work undertaken by Marian Temple and her team who take care of the Corner House garden at the Allan Burgess Day Care Centre for the elderly, and for the maintenance of the flower beds and bulb planting in Wanstead High Street and Christchurch Green.

It is a real honour to be nominated by the Mayor of Redbridge and the community for all the hard work that the Society does to keep Wanstead in bloom… all of which is done free of charge.

Marian and her team work tirelessly to plant bulbs which have just began to sprout in time for spring in the flower beds along the High Street and by the Church on the Green. These were kindly donated to us by Nas, the owner of the pet shop.

If you would like to get involved in the planting and gardening scene in Wanstead, please e-mail us at info@wansteadsociety.org.uk as we are always in need of volunteers to help keep Wanstead green.
