REJECTED: Telford’s unpopular plan

Telford's latest planning application for the site of Chepstow in Leicester Road has been turned down by Redbridge's Regulatory Committee.

Now we wait to see what happens next. Will Telford go to Appeal? Or will they buckle to and submit a radically improved plan?

Meanwhile, though – and however it turns out in the end – congratulations to our Councillors and members of the Regulatory Committee for having the backbone to reject the scheme and not be browbeaten into saying "yes" for fear an appeal inspector might take Telford's side and fine our Council to the tune of a great deal of money.

"We must do what we think is right," said one of the Committee. And we all say "yea" to that!
