Last call for Wanstead artists

E is for exhibition_3 So many local artists have come forward to exhibit in the first Wanstead Art Trail that the organisers are asking extra high street businesses to take part and are appealing for any empty shops to be used for the event.

Professional and amateur artists who  live, work or attend art groups in Wanstead, Snaresbrook or Aldersbrook, and have not yet applied, are urged to act quickly – applications must close on Friday 21st May. Photography, 3D or multi-media work and sculptures are all welcome.

The trail will be launched alongside the Wanstead Festival on Sunday 19th September, running until the close of the following weekend. So there's still plenty of time for artists to produce work to be displayed in and around Wanstead High Street. Volunteers and the Wanstead Society are organising the event to promote local artists and our village high street.

Artists plus any local businesses that would like to be involved should contact Katriye Ibrahim on 07711 981314.

Calling all Wanstead Artists

How many talented artists are hidden away in their homes around Wanstead? We hope to find out this year with Wanstead's very own Art Trail which is to be organised in conjunction with the Wanstead Society.

The trail will be launched to coincide with the Wanstead Festival on Sunday 19th September and will run until the end of the following Sunday. All variety of  shops and businesses around the High Street will be displaying and selling art from local artists.

If you are an enthusiastic local artist and would like to participate in the Art Trail we would love to hear from you. For further details, please contact Katriye Ibrahim on 07711 981314.

Drinks at the Nightingale – Monday 23rd November

Nightingale Following on from the great evening we had at the Nightingale pub after the 2009 AGM, Monday 23rd November has been set as the date of our next informal drinks event.

We hope long-standing members, those who have joined recently, and particularly those yet-to-be, will come and join us in the Nightingale pub on Nightingale Lane from 7pm for a drink, a chat, and perhaps a chance to discuss some of our ideas about how to make Wanstead an even better place to live.

We hope to see you on the 23rd, and don't worry if you've not yet met any of us – we're a friendly bunch!
