More Wanstead residents in jobs

Written by on August 24, 2011 in News - 1 Comment

There are more people in work in Wanstead than anywhere else in Redbridge.

Statistics just out prove that Wanstead and Snaresbrook residents are the hardest working in the Borough. The June 2011 Claimant Count shows that only 2% of Wanstead residents are unemployed and claiming job seekers allowance, whilst the figure is over 3 times as high in the south of the Borough.

This is excellent news for Wanstead as it indicates that prosperity may be returning to our area. Of course, it doesn’t show how many residents who are out of work do not qualify for the benefit, which is a more accurate statistic, but it is some good news all the same!

It also proves that Wanstead surely deserves its fair share of tax payer pounds. After all, we earn it.
